Always be humble like Hillel

"Our Rabbi's taught, "A person should always by humble like Hillel, and he should not be strict like Shamai..." (Shabbos 30B)
The Iyun Yaakov explains that when people came to ask Hillel questions, Hillel would humbly treat each question as a good one. He wanted to make sure that the one who asked it, would not get embarrassed. Also, he was not strict. He was patient, and kept himself from getting angry. Anger brings death. Humility, on the other hand, is a source of life in this world and the next world.
