The Jewish people are pure and righteous. Why do they sin with Loshon Hora? It is because they do not realize how serious it is. If someone would tell them how terrible Loshon Hora is, they would certainly refrain from speaking it! So it is a great mitzvah to inform others about the seriousness of Loshon Hora.
