PRAYING WITH A MINYAN
Every Jew should daven with a minyan. According to Jewish law, when ten
men come together in a group, it is called a minyan. This group (Tzibur) is not just
ten separate people. This minyan forms a new unit with a strong energy towards
Heaven. In Psalms 78 our Sages say that "they talked him in with their mouths and
their hearts in another." The sentence that follows is: "He is merciful and He
forgives." When a group comes together to daven to Hashem, they have great
power. This power can cause Hashem to forgive. Hashem listens to the prayers of
each person in the minyan, and decides how they should be answered.
