"HOKAYL OVINU" - HASHEM, OUR FATHER

"Boruch ato Hashem Eloh-kaynu melech ho-ohlom" -(Blessed are You, Hashem our G-d, king of the universe)
The Torah requires that we say the first three blessings ofBirkas Hamozohn. This fourth blessing was set down by the Rabbis,so it is separated from the others. We begin with"Boruch", but do not close with "Boruch", inorder to make it stand apart and be very clear, that this is aRabbinical blessing and not a Torah blessing. "Hokaylovinu" - (the One who is powerful, our Father)
"Because You are our Father" (Y'shai-yo-hu 63:l6) Eventhough Avrohom, Yitzchok, and Yaakov are our forefathers, theyhave been dead for many generations. A father has mercy on hischildren and grandchildren only while he is living, but You,Hashem, are our Father, forever. Whenever we are in trouble, wecan always turn toYou.
Hashem is the only one who can help us. (Malbim)
